A layer of cork underneath the insole provides both insulation and resilience.  A tempered steel shank is expertly contoured within each shoe and triple ribbed for extra strength. The shank provides a backbone to keep the shape of a fine welt shoe and additionally offers remarkable support for lasting comfort.  Oak tanned leather bends are cut into outsoles at factory for maximum control of quality, crafted not only with good looks, but with the integrity of fine shoemaking.
