This Alden Monk Strap is expertly created by a master craftsman with durable, luxurious Shell Cordovan on the Aberdeen Last. In Alden Color 8 Shell Cordovan, this Plain Toe Monk Strap is tanned with a traditional, pure vegetable tanning process and is hand finished.  This process takes a full six months to complete in the single tannery still producing genuine shell cordovan today. The resulting leather is soft, supple, and made to last.  Oak tanned leather bends are cut into the outsoles for maximum quality crafted with not only good looks, but also the integrity of a fine shoe maker. This Monk offers a very versatile look that is appropriate for many different occasions. Combined with an easy on and off process, that versatility makes this Monk a great shoe for traveling. 

Each Alden New England shoe offers breathable comfort that lasts all day long. A layer of cork underneath the insole provides both insulation and resilience.
